The First Step
The first step in the process involves a meeting to discuss the project. During the meeting, we’ll ask a lot of questions about your vision for the project. This conversation will help us develop a concept and make sure our plans address your needs. We’ll also take a look at some factors that may affect your projects, such as topography/existing build if you’re doing a reno and part 9 compliance.
Preliminary Designs
We’ll create a set of preliminary home design drawings based on our discussion. The drawings will include elevations and detailed floor plans that will allow you to see how the design will flow. Upon request, we can provide state-of-the-art 3D model views so you don’t have to try to imagine what the finished project will look like.
We’ll give you plenty of time to review the plans and make any design concepts and changes.
Working Drawings
Once you approve the preliminary designs, we’ll create a set of comprehensive details plans that are suitable for rendering, permits and construction. The plans will include:
- Site plan
- Foundation
- Floor plans
- Elevations
- Cross sections
- Complete construction assemblies
Because we work extensively in the Vancouver Island area, we’re familiar with zoning ordinances and local bylaws – where needed we will contact building officials.
